Privileged to Pray?

Today is the national day of prayer. It was a beautiful day here for such a  gathering that many like minded citizens all over our country did.  I was asked to lead a prayer on behalf of the youth and families. It was a joy and an honor to do so. So, what is a prayer to you?

Is it a joy or a burden? Is it communication or confusion? Is it real or just routine? Is prayer powerful and persuasive or just merely passive? Is it time well spent or time wasted? Is prayer a discipline for you or is it just demanding?

Prayer seems to be what you make of it? Isn’t it interesting and wonderful at the same time that God leaves it up to us how often we pray, what we pray for, and even how long. Certainly Jesus spent a lot of time in prayer, and do you suppose he was as busy or busier than you are?

His closest disciples fell asleep on him when he was praying. Do you fall asleep when you pray, or better yet, when others do? What’s your view of prayer? Are  you privileged to pray? God waits for you to decide.

…and that’s what I’m talking about. Love, Rob

What a privilege it is to serve a God who is a God of Prayer. One who not only hears our prayers, but ANSWERS them according to His will. Thankfully, Jesus Christ is our High Priest, and we can pray directly to God the Father because of Christ. We need no mediator to take our prayers to (since Jesus does that for us). It is exciting to watch God answer our prayers. Answered prayer encourages us and reinforces our faith. Keep up the Kingdom Work, Rob!
